Compared with air bag bridge, the most obvious advantages of steel plate bridge are simple structure, low cost and maintenance cost, stronger rigidity and higher bearing capacity; The disadvantage is that its own weight is too large, which increases the dead weight of the vehicle and requires a large layout space.

Correspondingly, the advantages and disadvantages of airbag bridge are also relatively clear. Its main advantage is its light weight, which can reduce the self weight of the vehicle body. Its ride comfort is better than that of the steel plate bridge, and its shock absorption performance is excellent. In addition, due to the small friction of the air medium in the airbag, there is almost no noise during operation, its service life can reach 2-3 times that of the leaf spring, and its shock absorption performance is better. Its disadvantage is that the structure is more complex than the steel plate bridge, the maintenance and replacement cost is higher, and it is not suitable for the transportation of heavy goods. In addition, some car owners said that the airbag bridge is as bumpy as the steel plate bridge when the car is empty, aging is fast and easy to be damaged.

Back to the question of "whether the air bag bridge is better or the steel plate bridge", any statement that simply evaluates which suspension is better regardless of the actual use needs and conditions of the vehicle is a rogue, because "the honey of a and the arsenic of B" is better for oneself.

Just like steel plate suspension, it has high quality and poor shock absorption performance, but it is suitable for heavy trailers that are not afraid of collision, such as trailers transporting wood, steel coils, coal and gravel. Another example is the air bag bridge. Although the maintenance cost is high and the load-bearing performance is no better than that of the steel plate bridge, those trailers transporting dangerous goods, flowers, vegetables, fruits, electronic instruments and fragile goods are suitable for installing the air bag bridge, because the shock absorption performance is good and the cargo damage is small, so the freight will be deducted less.

It should be noted that although these two suspensions have their own advantages and disadvantages, from the industry trend in recent years, the airbag bridge may become the key promotion direction of the national standard.
