"Brake king" is a well-known existence in the trailer circle. Many car owners, especially those who often run mountain roads, have basically used it. The original intention of using it is to make the braking more reliable and ensure the safety of downhill.

The title "brake king" seems to have a little unclear and sharp meaning. Even if I haven't seen it, I feel very powerful when I hear the name. In terms of design, "brake king" is more similar to a pump valve:

Its working principle is to increase the air flow of the brake master cylinder or relay valve and shorten the response time by increasing the air flow, that is, to destroy the linear increase of the air pressure during the original braking, directly ignore the section with low braking air pressure and advance the section with large air flow, so the owner feels that the braking performance is good.

But correspondingly, when the car is empty, because the "brake king" filters out the section of low air pressure, it is easy to feel locked when braking gently. In order to avoid this phenomenon, the once popular "empty and load valve" appeared. By reducing the excessive air volume, the feeling on the owner's feet becomes soft, and the braking will not be so fierce when the car is empty. "Soft brake king" is the same reason, but a throttle valve is integrated on the valve body. In this way, the braking is relatively soft when stepping lightly, and the empty car is not easy to lock.

The key question is: is this "brake king" reliable?

In fact, through the working principle of "brake king", it can be seen that the braking effect brought by "brake king" is realized by controlling the air volume. Whether the braking force is strong or soft, the principle has not changed.

As we all know, the braking performance of a vehicle is a system, so we must pay attention to coordination. Especially for trailers, we must cooperate with the main trailer to ensure the braking effect. After replacing the "brake king", although the owner subjectively feels that the braking force is coming faster, it is easy to affect the coordination of the vehicle and lead to the imbalance of the main gear.

The most obvious is that the abnormal wear rate of vehicle tires has increased; Secondly, the early damage of brake components such as brake drum and friction plate has increased, so they have to be replaced again; In addition, after refitting the "brake king", the linear growth of vehicle braking force almost disappeared. Generally speaking, there is no braking force when stepping on it lightly; As the "brake king" increases the excess air volume, it is easy to make the brake air pressure drop rapidly. For some vehicles with slow inflation, it may lead to insufficient downhill air pressure; At the same time, the braking distance of the vehicle is not shortened, but extended. These are very dangerous and troublesome things.

The vehicle's braking system needs regular maintenance. The refitted "brake king" must not be regarded as the first choice after the braking force has problems. Although the braking force has become stronger on the surface after installation, the problems existing in the braking system still exist. For example, once a car owner often transported sand and gravel. After he found that the brake was not easy to use, he installed the "brake king", but he still felt it was not easy to use.
