In March 2020, the Ministry of transport issued an announcement to redefine the technical specifications of low flat semi-trailer.

In terms of the limit value of overall dimension, the original standard of low flat panel special semi-trailer requires that the length ≤ 13.75m, the width ≤ 3M and the height ≤ 4m, and the new requirement puts the width to 3.4m;

In terms of quality parameters, the original standard requires that the servicing mass of three-axis low plate is ≤ 10t, the new requirement is that the three-axis is ≥ 42t and the five axis is ≥ 55T. Compared with other types of semi-trailer, the maximum loading capacity of low flat semi-trailer is 140 m3, which is much higher than the volume of standard van semi-trailer, which is equivalent to the total loading capacity of center axle front vehicle + rear vehicle.

However, the definition of low flat semitrailers used to transport "non detachable" large objects has not been changed in the new regulations.

In terms of its own advantages, the low flat semi-trailer has low center of gravity, good stability and safety, and strong ability to transport ultra-high goods and pass through height limit obstacles.

It is worth noting that the low flat semi-trailer has particularity in the application field, and its installed accessories are also different from ordinary semi-trailer.

Take the low flat trailer bridge produced by Darong group as an example. After the update of the technical specifications for low flat panel semi trailers, there are different views on low flat panel semi trailers in the market.

1. Opposing car owners believe that the existence of large board cars has seriously affected the freight environment, resulting in the current phenomenon that freight rates are only reduced but not increased, which is not conducive to the long-term interests of car owners.

17.5 and 13.75 large board cars can only transport non detachable large goods according to the requirements, but many car owners use them to transport Ordinary goods driven by interests, which is an impact on those car owners who run regularly and transport and the standardized transportation environment. It is necessary to strictly implement one super and four penalties, and unify the national law enforcement, otherwise it is difficult to cure.

2. The car owners who support it believe that the history of low flat trailer is not short. After years of development, it has achieved ecological balance with standardized trailers. They believe that the main reason for the decline in freight is the economic environment. Even if large board cars are not allowed to transport Ordinary goods, it will only lead to more 13m new cars pouring into the market, which will not play a great role in alleviating the pressure of freight transportation.

In fact, objectively speaking, the technical specifications and vehicle related qualifications of low flat semi-trailer clearly indicate that its purpose is for and can only be used to transport non detachable goods, that is to say, it is illegal to use this type of vehicle to engage in LCL, lvtong and other common goods, but at present, the relevant governance standards are not unified and the governance strength is not strict, but this is an industrial chaos in the end, disrupting the development of logistics and transportation market, Contrary to the standardized, standardized and closed transportation advocated by the state, once the relevant departments invest in governance, many vehicles may be idle, which will have a great impact on car owners. It is suggested that car owners should still take a long-term view and follow the general rules of industry development.
