Under normal circumstances, the license plate of semi-trailer is yellow. Then the owner asked: can the semi-trailer hang a blue card? Before answering this question, you need to understand the difference between blue card and yellow card.

Difference between blue card and yellow card:

1. Applicable models are different:

Blue brand is generally applicable to passenger cars in a broad sense, light passenger M1 passenger vehicles, light cargo vehicles with a load of less than 1.0 tons and Mopeds;

The yellow card is applicable to large vehicles (trucks and special operation vehicles; semi-trailer tractors; trams), trailers (full trailers and semi trailers not fixed with tractors), ordinary motorcycles (ordinary two wheeled motorcycles and ordinary three wheeled motorcycles), low-speed vehicles (low-speed trucks, three wheeled motorcycles and wheeled self-propelled machinery vehicles), ordinary M2 light buses, large and medium-sized buses, trucks with a load of more than 1.0 tons Coach car and coach motorcycle.

2. The requirements for the type of driver's license are different:

Blue car with C license or above can be driven; You can only drive a yellow car with a B license or above.

3. Different traffic restrictions:

In some cities, blue cars can pass without restriction. The yellow card car has to pass in different periods of time, and even apply for a pass.

4. Different charging standards:

In terms of highway charges, blue car charges are low, while yellow car charges are generally high. The volume, weight and other factors of yellow cars are the reasons for the relative increase of costs.

5. Different annual inspection periods:

In general, passenger cars in operation shall be inspected once a year within 5 years, and once every 6 months if they exceed 5 years; Trucks and large and medium-sized non operating passenger vehicles shall be inspected once a year within 10 years, and once every 6 months if they exceed 10 years; Small and micro non operating passenger vehicles shall be inspected once every two years within 6 years, once a year for more than 6 years, and once every six months for more than 15 years.

6. Different requirements for handling operation certificate:

Blue card generally does not need to apply for an operation certificate; The yellow card must apply for an operation certificate, and the handling conditions of passenger transport and freight transport are also different.

From the above comparison, it can be seen that no matter whether it is a tractor or a car, it does not belong to the model that can hang a blue brand. The applicable vehicle type is an explicit provision. Needless to say, from the perspective of the type of driver's license alone, the semi-trailer belongs to the tractor on the vehicle type, and the driver's license level is required to reach category A2, which is different from the driver's license requirements of blue cars, so blue cards cannot be hung.

However, among many models on the market, there is indeed a "semi-trailer" that can hang a blue card. Here is a quotation mark. Why? Because this "semi-trailer" is not a semi-trailer in the traditional sense. It is a middle axle carriage towed behind the light truck. According to the manufacturer's publicity, this model can be opened as long as it meets the blue card C license.

In fact, to some extent, this belongs to the deliberate confusion of manufacturers. It's true that the blue card can be hung, because the light truck can be loaded with the blue card originally, and it can be opened according to the C license. The manufacturer didn't lie about this. However, once the middle axle carriage is towed behind the light truck, it is no longer a light truck. It should be called a freight train. Like a semi-trailer, it must have an A2 driver's license to drive.

Although this type of vehicle can continue to hang the blue brand, according to the regulations on the implementation of the road traffic safety law of the people's Republic of China, the load mass of the trailer towed by the truck shall not exceed the load mass of the truck. For example, if the light truck can transport 5T goods at most, the goods transported by the carriage must be ≤ 5T and cannot exceed the main vehicle. In this case, the load capacity of the freight train is relatively limited and can only transport some light goods. The regulation also requires that trailers towed by trucks must be equipped with synchronous braking devices, that is, the electric braking devices of high-end trailers.

In addition, whether the freight train pulled by the truck can get on the blue card depends on the conditions of the truck itself. Generally, three conditions need to be met: the total length can not exceed 6m, the total mass can not exceed 4.5t, and the household tonnage can not exceed 2T. These three conditions must be met at the same time to get on the blue card. If they do not meet any of these three conditions, they can only get on the yellow card.
