1. Driving is difficult. Due to the structural design, the front axle of the full trailer generally has a steering function, which is relatively independent of the steering system of the main vehicle. Therefore, the tracking performance of the trailer is not as good as that of the semi-trailer, which is a test for the technical and psychological quality of the driver. Especially when reversing, it is more difficult to drive. If you are not careful, you will lock yourself, and the non veteran driver is not competent.
2. Poor driving stability. The drawbar/drawbar of the full trailer can swing up and down as well as left and right, which makes the full trailer more flexible, relatively, and greatly affects the stability of the full trailer at high speed, which is easy to lead to risks such as brake flapping, so it is not suitable for high-speed transport.
3. Braking distance is unstable. The connection between the full trailer and the main vehicle is mainly through the drawbar/traction frame. Therefore, the driver's technology and experience are also very tested when braking. If the driver cannot step on the brake in a timely and stable manner, the vehicle is likely to swing. 4. The carrying capacity gradually lags behind semi-trailer. In the past, China's vehicle technology was relatively backward, and the transport capacity of the tractor could not be improved. Compared with a semi-trailer car, the full trailer+main vehicle can achieve loading in two cars, with obvious advantages in carrying capacity. However, with the continuous improvement of vehicle technology, the horsepower of the tractor continues to increase. In this way, the tractor can transport more goods. Even if the semi-trailer has only one carriage, it can also transport the same or even more goods than the full trailer. Considering the adaptability of the semi-trailer to complex road conditions, it presents a situation in which the latter takes the lead.
5. Explicit restrictions on statutory prohibitions. The 1995 Measures for the Administration of Expressway Traffic stipulates that full trailer tractors are not allowed to enter the expressway; The Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China in 2003 once again specified that full trailer trailers and other motor vehicles with a design maximum speed of less than 70 kilometers per hour shall not enter the expressway.
So far, full trailers, which were once very popular in the transport market, have begun to decline, but this does not affect the brilliance of full trailers abroad, especially in European and American countries, where the population base is small, the land is sparsely populated, and the requirements for carrying capacity are not too high. In contrast, full trailers pay more attention to the functionality of trucks, which is obviously more advantageous than semi trailers; In addition, the vehicle auxiliary safety technology in Europe and America is relatively advanced, which can also make up for the defects of the full trailer to a certain extent.
