The trailer is equipped with ABS system, and 8 tires can be saved in one year?

When it comes to the ABS system, I believe many customers will not feel strange. With the continuous development of vehicle technology, ABS has now become the standard configuration of tractors.

The full name of ABS is anti lock system. In the process of vehicle service braking, ABS can prevent the wheels from locking, ensure the rolling friction between the tires and the road surface, improve the friction, greatly improve the vehicle safety, and also reduce the cost of vehicle maintenance to a certain extent.

A card friend once said that he and his friend had bought two three axle low plates of the same specification at the same time. After collecting the car, he positioned the trailer himself and installed a six channel ABS system, which cost about 6500 yuan for optical transmission, but his friend did not install it because of the high price. After using the car for a year, my friend's car had 14 tyres replaced, but only 6 tyres were replaced, which is equivalent to saving 8 tyres in a year.

In addition, ABS can also enable the vehicle to maintain good controllability in case of emergency braking to avoid obstacles or dangerous situations in front; On wet and snowy roads, vehicle safety can also be guaranteed, and the phenomena of skidding, tailspin, folding or losing control during braking can be reduced or avoided.

However, in practice, many car owners are reluctant to install the ABS system. On the one hand, due to the price factor, they feel that the ABS is too expensive and not mandatory by laws and regulations, so they do not want to spend more money to install it; Secondly, ABS will not lock the wheels, and will constantly adjust the brake air pressure during emergency braking. Therefore, the car owner will feel that the deceleration is not enough after stepping on the brake, and even bounce his foot upward, which is not as pleasant as the "King Brake".

In fact, ABS is a long-term return investment mode. It may not be beneficial when it is just installed, but over time, the cost advantage of vehicle maintenance will be revealed. It may pay back the cost once a year or two, not to mention that ABS can provide necessary safety protection at some critical times.

Maybe some car owners are used to the "brake king". Usually, the wheels lock up when they lightly step on the brake. Therefore, they are not suitable for the use of ABS, which requires stepping on the brake all the way.

In fact, "Brake King" only changes the air flow of the brake pump or brake valve, and shortens the response time by increasing the air flow, which to some extent damages the linear growth of the braking force, that is, the car owners often say that "light stepping means locking, heavy stepping means no braking force", which not only easily leads to insufficient air pressure when the car is slowly inflated downhill, but also increases the abnormal wear of tires, brake drums, friction pads and other components. In addition, after the wheels lock, the steering wheel's controllability is reduced or even lost. This is not a good phenomenon.

In contrast to the ABS system, although the brake pedal will rebound upward after starting, this is due to the air pressure regulation, which is to ensure the side rolling and sliding performance of the wheels, to ensure the maximum adhesion between the wheels and the road, and to have controllability. It is a normal use performance. The car owner only needs to continue to step on the brake pedal, and must not step on the brake pedal to loosen it, because ABS is to some extent equivalent to the automatic braking program, Only when you step on it to the end can ABS play its best role. This is also a braking habit that car owners who have replaced ABS need to adapt to.

There is another point that the car owners are more concerned about: the braking distance of ABS. Although according to the official publicity information, the main function of ABS is to prevent wheel lock, and it does not promise to shorten the braking distance. According to the experimental data, the braking distance of vehicles with ABS is much shorter than that of vehicles without ABS.

Why? Because when the vehicle is not equipped with ABS, the tire will lock up after reaching the peak braking value. When a fixed surface of the tire rubs with the road surface, the rubber temperature increases, the strength decreases, and the friction will also decrease; The vehicle with ABS can prevent the wheels from locking, so that different surfaces of the wheels can contact the road surface and friction, so it can always maintain greater friction. Only on some special roads, such as a lot of snow, gravel roads, deep sand and thick mud, can the front wheels form a mound to block the vehicle from moving forward after the wheels are locked, so the braking distance of vehicles with ABS is relatively long. On rainy and snowy roads, the body of vehicles with ABS will be much more stable when braking.

Some car owners said that ABS would make it impossible to step on the brake pedal and stop the vehicle on icy roads, so the braking distance was extended. In fact, this statement is biased, because ABS can prevent the tire from locking and provide the maximum friction coefficient, but it cannot exceed the physical limits of the tire and the road surface. Under the same road conditions, if the vehicle does not have ABS, it is likely that the tire will lock and the vehicle will lose control. It is not just the length of the braking distance. Therefore, the key to driving on icy roads is to slow down in advance and slow down. You can't just rely on emergency braking.

The car owner also said: "How many channels do you usually listen to ABS?"?

"Several channels" is a common name for ABS sensors. For example, "four channels" means four sensors, which is officially referred to as "4S/2M", that is, four sensors and two ABS solenoid valves.

Take a three axle semi-trailer as an example. Generally, four channel or six channel ABS can be selected. The four channel solenoid valve controls the wheels on the left and right sides respectively, and the six channel ABS has an independent control unit for each axle. Therefore, the six channel monitoring and control should be more accurate, and the natural purchase cost should be significantly higher than the four channel ABS. If the car owners usually run on good roads, such as highways, national highways and provincial highways, the four channel ABS can meet the use needs; If the road conditions are relatively complex, try to use six channel ABS.
