Anyone who has seen the steel coil transport vehicle knows that the steel coil is generally placed with the arc downward and horizontally on the trailer, which is easy to roll forward or backward. Then why not put it vertically with the plane down? In fact, this is due to the consideration of loading and unloading and cargo damage:

1. The steel coil laid horizontally is more convenient for handling and loading and unloading.

With such a large weight, it is impossible to load and unload the steel coil by manpower. Large lifting tools must be used. When the steel coil is placed horizontally, the sling of the crane or the steel wire rope used for lifting and fixing can pass through the center of the steel coil to facilitate lifting and transportation. In contrast, if the steel coil is placed vertically, it will not only increase the time and cost of loading and unloading, but also affect the transportation efficiency.

2. Steel coils placed horizontally can reduce cargo damage.

Although the steel coil has large weight and good toughness, cargo damage will inevitably occur in the process of transportation. For example, when the vehicle passes through the pothole road section or deceleration belt, the edge of the steel coil rubs back and forth with the vehicle body, which will inevitably lead to edge wear, even edge deformation or damage. In particular, aluminum coil, cold-rolled steel coil or galvanized steel coil have high value. Even slight damage may lead to freight deduction.

If the steel coil is placed vertically at this time, once the bottom collides, the whole bundle of steel coils may be damaged. 1. Add a thick wooden board or straw mat at the bottom of the steel coil to increase the friction between the steel coil and the car body, which can minimize the displacement of the steel coil.

2. Install triangle wood or wave plate that can block, and the height difference shall be as high as possible, which can block the steel coil at the moment of sliding.

3. Fix the steel coil with steel wire rope. Pay attention not to use ordinary rope. It is best to tighten it with hand hoist, which can play a better role in tightening and fixing than manual. After strapping, be sure to check it several times and be careful without fault.

4. Don't drive too fast, pay attention, use more defensive braking, try to avoid emergency braking, and don't turn sharply. When parking and resting, pay attention to check whether the triangle wood, wave plate and steel wire rope are loose. Once it is found to be loose, tighten it immediately.

5. Don't overload, don't drive tired. Remember Wuxi elevated rollover? Six steel coils are overloaded. In addition, don't drive tired. Even if the requirements of transportation timeliness are higher, safety is the most important. Don't put the cart before the horse.
